Subcontractors
Our goal is to ensure a safe work environment and the wellbeing of employees and the environment. Particular attention is paid to the safety of employees and contractors operating in the area. A safe work environment is based on common safety principles and rules. Guards monitor the area with cameras and access control systems. Guards guide visitors, prevent unauthorised access to the industrial area and control the traffic going in and out of the factory area. Kupariteollisuuspuisto’s gates can be accessed with a personal access control key. Visitors will be registered to the access control system. No matter how you move in Kupariteollisuuspuisto, always obey the traffic rules and exercise due caution as various vehicles, trains and machinery operate in the factory area. It is important to keep in mind that vehicle operators may have restricted visibility.
Kupariteollisuuspuisto’s production facilities employ over 1,400 workers with its partner companies. In addition, hundreds of workers work indirectly in the area. Safe working practices in Kupariteollisuuspuisto are possible only when subcontractors recognise the risks related to their work and follow the instructions.
BEFORE STARTING WORK
Before starting work, subcontractors must provide the names of their employees to the employing company in order to obtain access control keys for the employees. In order to obtain an access badge, employees are required to complete a basic orientation training and possess a valid occupational safety card. The employees of subcontractors must also have a photo-bearing identity card.
WORK PERMITS
A written work permit system is used in the factory area. In order to ensure safe work practices, all employees are required to have a written work permit and a valid occupational safety card. A work permit is always issued by the employing company. All employees are to report to the site supervisor before starting work on site.
SUBCONTRACTORS
Prior consent of the employing company is required before subcontractors can be used.
SAFETY
Before starting work at Kupariteollisuuspuisto, you will be provided a Safety and Environment Guide, unit-specific safety training and work-specific orientation. Work must always be carried out as planned. Proficiency as well as identifying work-related risks in advance are the prerequisites for safe work. All employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others within their work area. Defects in machinery and equipment or unsafe work conditions which may lead to injuries or illness must be reported to the site supervisor and the employing company without delay. If the work poses a serious risk to an employee or other employees, the employee has a right to refrain from the work in question. This must be reported to the employer without delay.
Only tools and equipment that are safe and necessary for the execution of work are allowed in the factory area. Subcontractors’ tools and equipment must have identification markings.
Photography and video recording in the area is prohibited. The area has continuous surveillance as well as video recording.
In all incidents, follow the safety instructions in the area.
